CLEAR YOUR CLOGGED AIR FILTERS
A dirty air filter is the #1 cause of AC freeze-ups and low airflow. When air can't pass through, the indoor coil drops below freezing, turns into a block of ice, and stops cooling entirely.
Shut Off the Power
Go to your thermostat and switch the system to 'OFF'. For extra safety, flip the AC breaker in your main electrical panel. Never work on a running system!
Locate Your Filter Grille
Inspect & Slide Out
Check Size & Direction
Insert & Lock Grille
PRO SAFETY TIP
Always match the Airflow Arrow on the side of your filter frame! It must point in the direction of the furnace blower (toward the wall/unit, away from the room).
UNCLOG YOUR CONDENSATE DRAIN LINE
Your AC removes gallons of humidity from your indoor air daily. This water drains out via a PVC pipe. Over time, algae and mold clog this pipe. When it blocks, your AC's safety switch flips off the system, or water leaks into your ceiling and floors.
Locate the Outdoor Drain
Find the white PVC pipe sticking out near your outdoor condenser unit. This is where your indoor AC drips its condensation water.
Connect a Wet/Dry Shop Vac
Create a Tight Seal
Vacuum for 10-15 Seconds
Verify & Flush
CRITICAL WARNING
Never use compressed air cans or high-pressure water hoses to blast through the pipe. This can blow apart glued PVC joints hidden inside your walls, causing thousands of dollars in water damage.

PROBLEMS PERSISTING? Blowing Warm Air?
If you have cleared your air filters and thoroughly vacuumed out your drain line, but your AC is still blowing warm air, it is time to face the reality.
REFRIGERANT LEAKS
If your refrigerant (Freon) is low, it means there is a physical leak. Handling refrigerant requires specialized EPA certification, vacuum pumps, and manifold gauges.
DEAD START CAPACITOR
The capacitor acts like a battery to kick-start the compressor. If it dies, the outdoor unit won't run. Replacing this involves dangerous high-voltage electrical hazards.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Diagnosing electrical systems, compressor issues, or recharging refrigerant requires a certified & licensed HVAC company. Do not attempt to work on internal electrical or refrigerant systems yourself!
